Big Taste Comes in Small Apples
Why Pixie Crunch Apple Trees?
It s the sweetest, crispiest fresh apple around. The small apples from our Pixie Crunch Apple Trees are even sweeter than the popular Honeycrisp Apples, and they break away from the core with a satisfying snap.
Imagine picking a basketful of beautiful red apples from your backyard tree and bringing them inside to bake a homemade pie. There’s no guilt required to bake these fruits: Pixie Crunch apples are so sweet that you’ll need only a sprinkle of added sugar in your recipes.
Even better? The Pixie Crunch s big harvests. A standard Pixie Crunch begins to bear fruit in its third year of growth, and fully mature trees can yield pounds of fresh apples that ripen over a period of about three weeks each fall. Plus, Pixie Crunch Apples can be stored for up to two months in cool conditions.

Planting & Care
1. Planting: Ensure you select a location with well-drained soil and full sun (6 hours of sunlight each day). Once you ve chosen your area, dig a hole that s twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Place your new Pixie in the hole, tamp down the soil as you fill the hole to prevent air pockets, and mulch around the base to preserve moisture. Finally, water to settle the soil.
*Tip: Make sure your mulch is not touching the base of the trunk.
2. Watering: Your Pixie Apple will benefit from a regular watering each week. You may need to water more often in times of extreme heat or drought. However, if you re not sure when to water, simply check the soil about 2 or 3 inches down. If the soil is dry here, it s time to water.
3. Pruning: Once your tree has become established and is starting to bear fruit, it will need some periodic, moderate pruning. Only prune the tree during times of dormancy, making sure to remove any vigorous, upright stems and weak, damaged or dead branches.
