Delicious Tropical Flavor in Your Backyard
Why Florida Special Pineapples?
Imagine exotic, island-inspired flavor in your own backyard…with our Florida Special Pineapple Plant, it’s possible and easy. Especially since this pineapple can be planted in the ground or in a container to grow on your patio…or even indoors.
In fact, it’s one of the few tropical plants that thrives in containers. Simply place the Florida Special Pineapple in front of a sunny window, water it, and it’s ready to grow. These pineapple plants need virtually no care to provide the rich taste of home-grown pineapples. And under optimal conditions, you could get fruit in as few as two years. Plus, because the Florida Special is self-fertile, the entire process is even simpler (though more plants mean more fruit).

Planting & Care
1. Planting: First, choose an area with full sun and well-drained soil for your Florida Special Pineapple. Around 6 to 8 hours of sun per day is appropriate.
To plant your Pineapple, dig a hole deep enough to cover its root ball. After placing your plant, tamp down the soil while backfilling to avoid any air pockets. Water your Pineapple to settle the soil that surrounds the roots. If you’re planting in a container, select one that’s approximately two times the width of the root ball. From there, the planting instructions are the same – and after you’ve planted, place your potted Florida Special Pineapple Plant in front of a sunny window.
2. Watering: Water regularly during the first full growing season. To test when and how much to water, simply check the top 2 to 3 inches of soil – if it’s dry, it’s time to water until it’s moist but not oversaturated.
3. Fertilizing: Generally, Pineapples take up nutrition through their leaves, so very little fertilizer, if any, is necessary. If you do fertilize, use liquid solutions like seaweed extract or fish emulsion.
