Planting & Care

1. Planting: First, find an area with full sun to partial sun (4 to 8 hours of sunlight) and well-drained soil, or select a container with drainage holes for planting. Just be sure to shelter from the hot afternoon sun.

Once you’ve selected a location (or your container, which should be twice the size of the shipped container), dig a hole that’s around twice the size of your plant’s root ball and just as deep, with a bit of extra room to grow. Then, place the shrub, tamp down the soil and water to settle the roots.

If you re planting in a container, ensure it has drainage holes and use organic soil mix. Then, place in a sunny area on your porch or patio.

2. Watering: Generally, you should check your soil about 2 to 3 inches down for dryness. If the soil is dry here, it’s time to water. Watering about once or twice weekly is a good rule of thumb.

3. Pruning: Pruning is unnecessary, but if you’d like to shape your Flaming Glory, simply trim up the edges after blooming has stopped. And of course, remove any damaged or dead foliage.
